Fellow Saints of Immanuel,

Our current reality requires physical separation. In our Gospel reading this weekend, we heard Jesus’ invitation to worship His Father-God in spirit and truth. Perhaps we can use email and Facebook to connect, even if not in physical proximity. At Immanuel, I value the conversations so much. So may these thoughts be an invitation to further conversation that help us worship in spirit and in truth.

Today’s Watch-word: I cry to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
The Daily Watch Word goes back to 1731, to the “Herrnhut Community.” (The name of the community means “Lord’s House”, loosely translated.) This resource for daily faith-formation and worship is now available in over fifty languages. My family has used it for several generations.

For today, the watch word is this expression of faith, found in Psalm 57. If today will follow the usual routine for you, or if your plans have been disrupted, are we able to trust that God will show us how he will lead us from this present reality into his preferred and promised future?
